About us

From Indonesian waters to the world's tables

DERFISH is a seafood supplier headquartered at Muara Angke, Jakarta's fishing port — where the catch comes ashore before sunrise.

We work directly with handline, pole-and-line and coastal net fishers across the Java Sea, the Banda Sea and the Indian Ocean. Every fish is graded on the dock, processed the same day, and frozen to lock in the quality it left the water with.

Our name carries our promise: the fish stands in the middle of everything we do. Sustaining the sea is not a slogan — it is the only way this business lasts.

Three families, one water column

Our species are organised the way the ocean organises them — by where they live. Follow the depth rail down from open water to the sea floor. Select any species for its full export specification.

From dock to deep freeze, under one roof

Our plant sits inside the Muara Angke fishing port — the catch travels metres, not miles, before it is graded, processed and frozen. Six stations, one cold chain.

Sustainability

Sustaining the sea is the first half of our name's promise

Serving the best is only possible if the sea keeps giving. We keep it simple and verifiable.

Selective gear only

Handline, pole-and-line and small coastal nets. No trawled tuna, no fish aggregating devices on our pelagic lines — one hook, one fish.

Traceable to the boat

Every carton carries a landing date, fishing ground and vessel record — from FMA 572, 573, 712 and 718 waters to your receiving dock.

Size-graded, never juvenile

We buy at or above maturity size for every species and return undersized catch decisions to the fishers — paying fairly for what we do take.
